This article here, though not related to the class material, grabbed my attention. It highlights how the average American views the global economic playground. Do you guys agree with the changed and changing trend?
I think that the world economy is no longer dominated by a single power but a multitude and in the 'next 20 years' China would have definitely moved ahead of the US in terms of economic influence. What do you guys think?
It's not that far off base. I don't necessarily think it will be sustainable given the pressure to un peg the yuan, but as long as they keep their currency undervalued, I can see this becoming fact.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with JJ, the world economy is no longer dominated by the power of the United States economy. Every year economic power around the world is becoming more and more widespread. Over the next 20 to 30 years, I believe major developing countries like Brazil, Russia, India, and China are going to become extremely powerful players in the global economy. Their numbers alone make up such a large population, that you can't look past their potenital to gain more and more power as they continue to develop.
