Low tax payments for US companies

http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/03/10309301-if-you-thought-romneys-taxes-were-low-wait-until-you-see-what-companies-pay

I found this article about companies who have gotten away with paying taxes under 13% of what they earned domestically. This article discusses how this is a lower amount paid by Romney. I can't believe that there are companies getting away with practices like this. I really think they are doing the American people an injustice by contributing such a small amount to the tax fund when normal people are putting so much of their hard earned money into the system.

  1. Once again, I think that people fail to perceive the economy from the nation's point of view. If more people can start doing this, this recession, or whatever we're in right now, would make a turn around. It's the same logic of buying CDs to support your favorite artist in stead of illegally downloading it. Or paying a little bit extra to support local farmers.

  2. I agree with Lamrock. There is no reason that large companies aren't contributing more to the tax fund. There is no excuse for this.

  3. I understand that the tax break was needed to help out with the recession, but I think its pretty terrible that they are still asking for extensions and expected the same breaks now. They need to understand that it can't last forever.

  4. It makes sense that the US has had these tax payments that are low in order to attempt to bring business to the US and to grow our economy. But at the same time, its unfair to expect the American people to pay taxes that they can't even afford at the moment, and even raise their taxes, while these big companies get away without paying their "fair share".
