President Obama announced his budget yesterday with a strong emphasis and cutting military spending and raising taxes. Republicans are obviously opposed to the new budget however many of the suggested plans seem to be what is best for the country in order to decrease the deficit. Do you agree with the plans suggested by the president? If not, what do you believe needs to be done to help decrease the deficit? Do you think politics sometimes get in the way of actually doing what's best for the country?
Yes Tim I think that politics gets in the way of lawmaking and nothing ever seems to get done. I agree that Obama should cut spending on a lot of programs, not just the military, though. Also, I do not think he should raise taxes...now is not the time.
ReplyDeletePolitics very, very frequently gets in the way of making the right decisions for the country as a whole. I agree with Jon (Obama should cut spending on a lot of programs). I wouldn't necessarily say now is not the time to raise taxes, it depends a lot on what taxes are raised and by how much.
