Obama and Romney Take Jabs

This is an interesting article that pertains to a current issue we have seen occurring in the last couple of days. GAS PRICES!!!! Romney suggests that we should drill in Alaska to help lower the gas prices.  Obama believes that this is not the solution because we are consumers of 20% of the world's oil and have the ability to only provide 2%.  Throughout this article, Obama and Romney continued to state weaknesses that each other have.

Should we drill in the US to help satisfy the demand of oil?

  1. I do not think we should drill for oil in the U.S. We have smart enough scientists and engineers that we should be more focused on coming up with alternative fuel sources. As a nation and myself included, we are much too reliant upon gasoline and with our current technology in other industries we should have found alternatives a long time ago.

  2. I personally do not think that it would be a bad idea to drill in Alaska. Our states should all contribute some of their natural resources for the betterment of our country if they need to. It should be done responsibly and safely.

  3. I don't think that drilling in Alaska is going to make up the type of difference in oil an gas prices that many politicians want us to believe. I think we need to focus on decreasing our dependency rather than finding these short term quick fix ideas that will probably do more harm then good

  4. I strongly agree with Obama in this debate. Drilling a new for a new oil source would be highly costly yet the return on investment is not going to be satisfying. We should have a national mindset of reducing oil usage. Right now, we're in a situation where US and several other big oil consumers are getting together to reduce their import from Iran and other oil producers in order for them to reduce the price. As the body of these countries, we should correspond to this attempt and support our leaders.
