Romney Wants to Cut Taxes for All

http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/Tax-VOX/2012/0302/How-will-Romney-account-for-billions-of-lost-revenue

Romney turned his tax plan from too conservative to much more ambitious this week. This move goes right along with Romney's ongoing push for smaller government. Less taxes for everyone may be the result of a Romney win. Is this the right way to go after Obama has added trillions to the national debt the past 4 years?

  1. I think its a smart move by Romney. Nobody wants to hear an increase in taxes when there is economic hardships for everyone in the US. That being said, I find it highly unrealistic to believe that he would cut taxes for everyone.. I can see the desire to cut taxes to give people the necessary break that they need in order to recover, but at the same time, I think it would be irresponsible to cut taxes at a time when our national debt is at an all-time high.

  2. I dont know if this is a good move or not. Sure its easy to say that nobody wants more taxes, but since Obama has increase the national debt maybe Americans would like to have a president that wants to actually address and take care of the problem.

  3. It is a smart political move on Romney's part. People don't necessarily want to elect a candidate who plans to tax them more when many families are already struggling but at the same time our national debt has gotten out of hand. It needs to be reduced and taxes are a way to help do so. I believe we need to find some type of balance between what is fair and what is necessary.

  4. I think this is a good move to try to get elected but it is bad news for the country. I don't think we can sustain this debt and taxes might be the only way to get some of the money back

  5. I think this move by Romney is more detrimental to his campaign than we think. Many of Romney's critics state that he does not have clearly defined policy tendencies. I think this new tax proposal is an attempt to appease people. However, it does not seem to have a solid framework.

  7. Yeah, I agree with Nate. It's a smart decision for him to attain more votes from people. However, it's not a reasonable plan to reduce the national debt and to acquire money for the government.

  10. I understand where he is coming from. But, I am not sure if this is the best approach for the country's future. It might attract people in the short-run, but what will be the effect in the long-run.

  11. I agree with Jake. It might help to get him elected but let's not forget that they are not required to keep their "promises". If elected it will be quite interesting to see how things turn out.
