Half of Wealthy Americans Agree with Buffett, Would Pay Higher Taxes

I found another interesting article which relates to the issue of economic inequality and taxes. Based off what the article says, what do you guys think? Do you think the rich truly agree with the tax raise or are they against it and just saying it because it's a hypothetical situation? Do you believe the idea that the rich are skeptic because they don't know where the money is going? Do you even believe an increase of taxes on the very well-off is something are country needs?

  1. I don't know how much of this I believe. Right now yes, its easy for Americans who have more wealth to say they wouldn't mind paying more taxes, but I think when it comes down to it, they wouldn't be willing to pay the higher taxes.

  2. I think that because it is a hypothetical situation the wealthier are more inclined to agree with the possibility of higher taxes but if it came down to it and their taxes are raised we will see a lot more of a protest

  3. I agree with Cate that they are willing to say something like this in order to not look like the villains of american society, however if the taxes were closer to becoming a reality the poles would be drastically different.

  4. I think that this being a hypothetical situation changes the acceptance of it versus it being a reality. The increase in taxes is easy to say right now and may be a temporary aid in the economy; however, it won't be invited to stay for very long at all. If it becomes a reality, it will be disliked very quickly.
